Edinburgh 26 Feb 1852 recorded. At Dundee by James Shepherd boatman residing Newport was presented a feu charter by Henry Stewart, St Fort, consent of George Just builder Newport ... Henry Stewart sold to James Shepherd ... lot no. 14 on feuing plan of Woodmuir Park prepared by William Scott architect Dundee ... including portions of fstreets included in the measure of 44.5 pol imperial bounded E by street 30' wide, on W by lot 13, on N & NE by a 25' street, on S by a 25' street, together with the dwelling house & other buildings erected on the piece of ground ... provided that ... James Shepherd ... to maintain forever in good & sufficient repair the dwelling house on said ground or at least a self-contained dwelling house not exceeding 2 storeys & roofed with blue slates or a double cottage not exceeding that height & roofed with blue slates - value not less than £140 ... otherwise to revert to St Fort ... & maintain all streets around ... & drains ... height of whole building including roof & chimney stalks not to be more than 40' from the ground ... outhouses limited to 10' walls & 1 storey height & third pitch roofs (too falls outhouses) [sic] ... I [Henry Stewart] bind that any buildings which shall be erected on Woodmuir house garden shall not exceed 1.5 storeys height & including roofs & chimneys shall not exceed 25' from the ground ... [James Shepherd's] buildings not to be used as an inn, hotel, place for selling spirituous liquors or as a brewery, mill, manufactory for chemical operations or any other way as to be a nuisance to other dwelling houses on Woodmuir Park.
