Cupar 4 February 1836 … On 17 January 1836 appeared Adam Symon, engineer Dundee, & James Duncan, publican Woodend, as bailie … a feu by Barbara Mackie & Robert Just disp to Adam Symon all & whole about 1 rood Scots (1 rood 10 poles 13 yds imperial) bounded on S by the high road; on E by that stripe of ground pt of subjects disp by Thomas Just to David Just & now belonging to Adam Symon & has been converted by him into a road for his own exclusive use; on N by a stone dyke (the property of Adam Symon) and dividing it from the subjects hereby disponed; on W by a straight line running from said N boundary to the highway, marked by 2 march stones - 1 N, 1 S; 90' 6'' broad,
and also a small piece of land adjoining the said subjects stretching from the NW corner thereof, bounded on S by a straight line W from the first march stone up to the dyke forming the W boundary of the property of William Just proceeding over a third march stone about 4' from said dyke; on E by the subjects before disponed; on N by foresaid stone dyke; on W by said dyke forming the boundary of William Just's property;

Adam Symon to leave in all time coming a space of 4' leading down to the Tay from the remaining land still belonging to the disponees beginning at the W-most end of piece 2 above thence along the W side of the property already belonging to Adam Symon for access to the River Tay by Robert Just … witnesses include William Philp, seaman residing Woodend, James Johnston, shoemaker residing Woodend, James Duncan, publican residing Woodend … RS 32/210/259
